In this day and age, recruiting quality candidates has become imperative for companies, be it a start-up or an MNC. Employment opportunities are scarce these days and this is due to the fact that every business sector is only interested in recruiting the very best candidates in the market. Hiring small or medium level employees is pretty straightforward because more often than not, people aren’t happy with their current job and want a change. But hiring top level managers and executives is tricky because these are the professionals who are already established in their field and to tempt them away from their current employer is not a cakewalk by any means.
Executives, unlike low-level professionals, should have certain traits which distinguish them from others. These traits are:-
- Composure: These professionals should be understanding and self-aware of their presence. No matter how precarious the situation, they should be able to control their emotions and also tend to other’s feelings.
- Connection: When they are communicating with others, they should be able to engage others. Excellent communication skills are a must for these professionals because they should be able to adapt to the needs of others by overcoming any miscommunication.
- Charisma: These professionals should be charismatic in their approach. This means that when you are communicating with someone, they should know that these professionals are entirely focused on them. They shouldn’t get easily distracted by anything.
- Confidence: One vital aspect that these professionals should cater to is ooze confidence. For this, they not only have to have the right posture but they should also make good eye contact. Also, it is necessary to ensure that what they are saying is matched by their expression whether it’s speaking to a single person or several individuals.
- Credibility: It’s not enough to speak fluently; what these professionals are saying should also have a certain amount of credibility. People who are talking with these professionals should know that whatever information they are getting is from a reliant and credible source.
- Sense of responsibility: Needless to say, these are the professionals who will have the most responsibility in a company. Precisely for this reason, they should be able to perform their duties in the most dedicated manner. Whatever their duties are, they should be able to meet deadlines and also be capable of supervising the work done by their subordinates.
Any company, small or big requires these top level professionals to ensure that they work smoothly. Precisely for this reason, when you are hiring them, you should be extra cautious.
